WHY?

Spotify connects millions of users worldwide, making it the ideal platform to promote emerging artists from diverse cultures. This campaign celebrates musical diversity by giving unknown talents a stage. The challenge is to create a meaningful and inclusive event while maintaining Spotify’s strong brand image.

HOW?

The campaign has two phases: First, a global audition process will select 20 artists from different cultures, with Spotify financing their debut albums. The second phase is the festival in Johannesburg, where these artists will perform, showcasing cultural diversity and supporting the local economy.

WHAT?

A large-scale media campaign designed to highlight cultural diversity through music, featuring unknown artists and offering new opportunities for emerging talents.

The GOAL

To celebrate cultural diversity through music by giving underrepresented artists visibility and support. This campaign creates new opportunities for emerging talents while reinforcing Spotify’s role as a platform for musical discovery.

The challenge

The main challenge is to generate global engagement and deliver a strong, impactful message through the social media campaign. The project must ensure a well-crafted strategy that balances creative storytelling with Spotify’s branding while effectively reaching a wide audience.

DESIGN TASKS

Create a cohesive social media presence
Design 15 Instagram posts with a unified visual identity to maintain brand consistency.

Design print materials
Develop 2 eye-catching posters to promote the campaign.

Design video and motion content
Produce 1 Instagram Reel video and 1 TV campaign video in a horizontal format to engage a wider audience.

Integrate new app feature
Design the introduction of Live Video on Spotify, allowing users to watch live performances on the platform seamlessly.

WHAT I've learned through this project

How strategic decisions in branding impact the success of a campaign.
This project also highlighted the need for a well-structured media strategy to ensure consistency across platforms and maximize engagement.
Additionally, it reinforced the role of music as a powerful tool for cultural exchange and economic growth.
